Where do you teach?  Beautiful, bright studio in my North Toronto home.

What do you teach?   Beginners, Open classes – all levels, all subjects, Paisley Design, Original Pattern Design.

What is your favorite thing to teach? Pattern design through to completion – personal expression and creativity.

Do you offer workshops?  Yes, I offer a variety of workshops.  Some examples of these are ‘Passionate for Paisley’,  ‘Hook Your House’, ‘Design Your Own Pattern’ and ‘Beginner Rug Hooking’.

How far are you willing to travel to do a workshop?  Toronto and surrounding countryside.

What do you like best about teaching?  Watching a creative spark ignite in a student, especially when they thought they didn’t haveone. I recently taught a Paisley Design and Hook class with a large group. In the end, every piece was completely unique and actually bore a strong resemblence to the person who hooked it. Amazing and gratifying!

What is your favorite tip to share with your students?  Hook up a sample of the wools you plan to use (especially textures). They can look very different when hooked, so this is a good way to be sure of their value (dark/light).
